DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: Tell us about yourself

My name is Jacob Brown I’m known as Jacob “The Bull”, I’m a 19 yr old Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighter and competitor. I was born in Miami, Fl but moved to NJ when I was ab out 3 yrs old. I began my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey at the age of 6, under Sgt. Paul Carnicella from the Newark, NJ Police dept. at Carnicella MMA Academy, in Newark, NJ. I was introduced to the sport by my aunt (maternal) whom is also a Newark, NJ Police Officer. I moved to Southern California at the age 10 where I joined The Art of Jiu Jitsu Academy under Guillerme and Rafael Mendes whom I still train under. Recently, I was signed by PKA Agency as I am also pursuing a career in acting.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: What separates you from others who do what you do?

I think what separates me is when I’m out competing I aim to entertain the crowd. I like to put on a show as Jiu Jitsu can be boring to watch to those who don’t understand the sport.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: How long have you doing what you do?

I’ve been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 14 yrs now. Since the age of 6

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: If you could describe yourself in three words, what would they be? Explain why.

Brave, Determined & Fashionable If I could describe myself it would be that, I’m brave, I’m determined and I love fashion. Brave because it takes bravery within yourself to face your everyday obstacles of life. Determination is what’s needed to conquer your goals. Fashion, I mean who doesn’t love fashion? It’s a confidence booster for me.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

If I could change one thing about myself I would have to say to trust my instincts more. My instincts in people, life, food etc..

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: Describe your daily routine.

My daily routine starts with training from 7am to 9am, come home shower eat, head to mid afternoon Cardio training, come home do some networking on social media then back to training from 6-7pm. Weekends I keep open for friends & family

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: Who is your role model? Why?

To be honest I don’t really see any one person as a role model. I don’t think it’s a requirement needed to chase your dreams. I keep myself enthusiastic and motivated

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

I see myself competing at the highest level in the black belt division and having a successful Jiu Jiu Academy

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: What are your hopes and dreams for yourself in the coming 10 years?

My hopes and dreams would have to be retired from competing in Jiu Jitsu and doing some TV/Film

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: If you could give a bit of significant career advice to your younger self, what would you say?

I would tell my younger self opportunities don’t just fall on your lap. So don’t turn them away so easily.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: What has been your career highlight until now?

I would say one of my career highlights is my 2019 IBJJF No-Gi World’s Championship; the training for this Championship was brutal. It was a tough year for me at the time. Right now it’s my 2022 IBJJF Jiu Jitsu Con International Championship.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: What is the best advice you received that changed your life?

The best advice I’ve been given is to follow my instincts. I have great instincts and it hasn’t let me down yet.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: What professional skill makes you stand out in your field of work?

What I feel makes me stand out in my professional skill is I’m able to combine my Jiu Jitsu , Judo and wrestling training an create my own style of fighting & competing. I think it makes it entertaining to watch.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: What is that one life lesson that you learned a little too late?

Life is just starting for me. I can’t say I’ve learned enough yet to say “too little to late” ask me again in a few years.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: Tell us about one event that had a big impact on you.

I would have to say when I got a really bad skin infection called MRSA. I was out of training for 6 months. It has to be till date the worse 6 months of my life.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: What is your number one goal for 2023?

My #1 goal for 2023 is to win another World Championship and break into acting

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: What is your biggest regret in life?

I would have to say my biggest regret in life was in early 2019 I traveled all the way to Lisbon, Portugal for a competition and was disqualified for not being able to make the weight. So I didn’t get to compete.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: Do you have a favorite quote? What is it?

My new favorite quote would have to be “If you do what you love, you’ll never have to work” I’m fortunate enough to be able to actually do what I love and monetize off of it.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: What is your favorite book?

I’m still a kid at heart. I enjoy my comic books and my Goosebumps books.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: Describe your perfect vacation.

My perfect vacation is being on a tropical Island. I love warm weather and beautiful sceneries. I love being in the water and being adventurous.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: What do you think is your worst quality?

I’ll say this; they don’t call me “The Bull” for nothing. I’m a Taurus and I can be quite stubborn.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: If you had to throw a surprise party for someone, what would you plan for them?

Yacht party for sure! Got to have a good DJ, good food, I don’t know if I’d want it in the middle of the Ocean. I need to see land close by.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: What type of music do you love the most? Why?

I like a lot of different types of music. I have to say Hip Hop is my #1 top favorite. There’s realness in Hip Hop. When you add a dope beat and tell a story it’s poetic.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: Tell me your worst joke.

The joke is, I don’t have any jokes. Not good or bad

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: Do you have any favorite pairs of shoes? If yes, explain!

I like Bape sneakers, they look like AF 1s but more comfortable.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: What is your opinion on the kind of current music that the artists are releasing?

My opinion on music currently is, there is music being created for everyone and every mood and vibe. I appreciate music and artist for that.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: Who is your ideal fictional character?

I have to say Spawn (Imagine Comics)

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: What type of music do you love the most?

Hip-Hop is my all time favorite music

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

I currently live where I want to live. I’ve pretty much did most of my growing up in Southern California and I love it here. I have places around the world I would love to spend time in but California is home to me.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: What is your philosophy in life?

My philosophy in life is work smarter not harder.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: Prince or Michael Jackson? Why?

Both are legends! I have to say for me it’s Michael. I’m a visual person; Thriller was the first music video I remember ever watching. Everyone knows MJ’s music & videos is what it is. The best!

For 2022 my favorite song would have to be First Class by Jack Harlow.

Hands down my favorite movie of 2022 was Black Panther 2.

DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS: New York or L.A.? Why?

I have to say both. The first half of my life was in NY/NJ it’s where my family is from. However, I’ve been in So Cal since I was 10 yrs old. Both cities are diverse and offer a lot of opportunities.
