Malika Blessing, an actress, producer, and devoted mother, is making waves in the entertainment industry and beyond. Her career, driven by an unwavering faith and passion for storytelling, is complemented by her dedication to giving back to her community. Through her co-founded initiative, Annual Bless Day, she spreads joy and support to underserved communities, creating a legacy of service and inspiration.
With a Master’s Degree in Theater Arts from Grambling State University, she has established herself as a formidable talent in the entertainment industry.
A proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Malika’s contributions to film and theater are both significant and impactful.
Her remarkable performances have earned her accolades, including a nomination for the NAACP Theater Award for her role in “A Lady in Waiting.” Recently, she showcased her talent as the host of the 2024 NAACP Theater Awards, further solidifying her status as a key figure in the arts community.
Malika’s versatility is evident in her work on screen and stage. She starred alongside Loretta Devine in Don B. Welch’s “THE LOST SOULS CAFE” on TVOne, and took on lead roles in horror films “GRIM WEAVER” and “HOPE STREET HOLIDAY,” both available on Amazon Prime. Additionally, she made a guest appearance in Tyler Perry’s “THE HAVE AND THE HAVE NOTS” on the OWN network.
Currently, Malika is best known for her role as Caden in AMC/ALLBLK’s “WICKED CITY.”

Do you have a favorite quote? What is it?
Jermiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
What is the best advice you have ever received?
The best advice I’ve ever received was from my mentor, Don B. Welch, to trust the process and never give up on your dreams, no matter how hard the journey gets.
What is your philosophy in life?
My philosophy in life is trusting God, having unwavering faith, and staying relentless in pursuing my goals.
What is the one thing you have accomplished that you’re most proud of?
Being a mom is my greatest accomplishment, and it’s what motivates me to keep going every day.
How do you stay innovative and adapt to changing circumstances in your field?
I stay innovative by embracing continuous learning, staying true to my craft, and remaining flexible to evolve with the ever-changing entertainment industry.
How do you give back to your community or make a positive impact in the world?
I co-founded Annual Bless Day, where we give back to underserved communities by providing blessing bags, toys for Christmas, and Easter baskets for children, spreading joy and support throughout the year.
Can you tell us a little about yourself and what you do?
I’m a mother, actor, and producer who genuinely loves helping others. One of my love languages is serving, supporting, and uplifting people to help them achieve their goals and celebrate their wins. I love to see people WIN!
What inspired you to pursue your career?
My passion for storytelling and the ability to inspire and connect with people through art inspired me to pursue acting and producing. It’s a platform where I can bring meaningful stories to life and make an impact.
How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?
I stay motivated and focused on my goals by trusting God, staying disciplined, and reminding myself of my purpose and the legacy I want to leave behind.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned in your career journey so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned in my acting career is the importance of resilience. Rejection and challenges are part of the journey, but staying true to yourself and continuing to grow is what leads to success.
How do you define success?
I define success as living a life of purpose, staying true to your values, and making a positive impact on others while continuously growing and evolving.
What is your biggest dream, and how are you working towards achieving it?
My biggest dream is to create impactful stories that inspire and uplift others while empowering underrepresented voices in the industry. I’m working towards this by honing my craft, taking on meaningful projects, and using my platform to advocate for change.
How has your faith or spirituality played a role in your career?
My faith has been a guiding force in my acting career, providing me with strength, purpose, and clarity. It helps me stay grounded, navigate challenges, and approach my work with authenticity and a heart to serve others.
Who is your biggest inspiration, and why?
My mother is my biggest inspiration because of her strength, resilience, and unwavering love. She taught me the value of hard work, kindness, and always pushing forward, no matter the obstacles.
How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance?
I maintain a healthy work-life balance by prioritizing self-care, setting clear boundaries, and making time for my family. I believe in working hard but also taking moments to recharge and nurture the relationships that matter most.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?
My advice would be to stay persistent, trust the process, and never stop learning. Be true to yourself, embrace rejection as part of the journey, and always keep your passion for storytelling at the forefront.
What is something that people often misunderstand about your work?
People often misunderstand that acting is just about fame and glamour. In reality, it’s a lot of hard work, dedication, and vulnerability. It requires continuous learning, emotional resilience, and a deep commitment to the craft.
What is something that you’re passionate about outside of work?
Outside of work, I’m passionate about traveling and experiencing new cultures, as well as helping others. Giving back and making a positive impact is something that truly drives me.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your work?
The most rewarding aspect of acting and producing is the ability to bring meaningful stories to life and create an impact. Whether it’s inspiring others, shedding light on important issues, or simply entertaining, knowing that my work resonates with people is incredibly fulfilling.
What is the most valuable skill you have learned in your career?
The most valuable skill I’ve learned in my acting and producing career is the ability to adapt and be flexible. Whether it’s adjusting to different roles, working with diverse teams, or navigating unexpected challenges, staying open and adaptable is key to success in this industry.
How do you deal with failure or setbacks?
I deal with failure and setbacks by viewing them as opportunities for growth. I take the lessons learned, adjust my approach, and keep moving forward with resilience and faith, knowing that setbacks are often stepping stones to greater success.
What is something you wish you knew when you were just starting out in your career?
I wish I had known the importance of patience and self-belief early on. The journey in acting isn’t always linear, and staying true to yourself while trusting the process is key to overcoming the challenges along the way.
What is that one life lesson that you learned a little too late?
One life lesson I learned a little too late is the importance of setting boundaries. It’s crucial to protect your time and energy and not feel guilty for saying no when necessary to prioritize your well-being and goals.

ABOUT DIZZYDIDDY+MAG FACES:
“Celebrating Impactful Achievements Across Various Fields”
DIZZYDIDDY+MAG has launched a new initiative called “Face of the Week,” which aims to showcase the achievements of men and women who are making an impact in various fields, including entrepreneurship, entertainment, education, communication, and more. Each week of the year, from January to December, a new face will be introduced to the public through DIZZYDIDDY+MAG’s platform.
Many of these faces of the week will also be honored at the Crownys, which are the DIZZYDIDDY+MAG Awards and where all the faces and people who worked or partnered with DIZZYDIDDY+PLUS will be celebrated. The ultimate goal of this initiative is to give recognition and exposure to individuals who are making a positive difference in their respective fields.
The initiative will culminate with the release of a printed magazine in December for the Face Of The Year.
By highlighting the achievements of these individuals, DIZZYDIDDY+MAG hopes to inspire and encourage others to pursue their passions and make a positive impact in the world.
