Can you tell us a little about yourself and what you do?
I’m a proud mother of two wonderful boys, ages 8 and 2, and reigning queen of Mrs. Elite Texas Universe 2025. In my professional life, I serve as a program manager in IT, specializing in cloud technologies. Additionally, I’m a featured supermodel and brand ambassador for five non-profit organizations, using my platform to make a positive impact.
What inspired you to pursue your career or business?
My passion and determination are the driving forces behind my success. As a hardworking individual, I’m not afraid to chase my dreams, no matter how ambitious they may seem. My passion is the fuel that propels me forward. For instance, embracing my transformation, I boldly seized the chance to participate in my first pageant, even amidst my postpartum weight loss journey. I refused to let fear or self-doubt hold me back, instead choosing to celebrate my strength and resilience as a new mother.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your career/business and how did you overcome it?
I successfully lost an impressive 45 pounds in only three months, through a rigorous workout regimen. This remarkable achievement was a testament to my determination and resilience, especially after pregnancy, and it empowered me to confidently pursue my pageant ambition.
How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?
I’m a highly focused and driven individual who prioritizes productivity and goal-oriented activities. I dedicate time to preparation, whether it’s for shows, work, or personal growth. Before embarking on any endeavor, I clarify expectations, scope, and desired outcomes to ensure alignment with my values and vision. I trust my intuition and focus on my inner guidance, rather than worrying about external perceptions.
My mantra is be true to yourself, and I believe that by staying authentic and focused, everything will naturally fall into place.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned in your career/business journey so far?
Always stay true to yourself and never compromise your personality to appease others. When you authentically embrace who you are, you become a constant, unwavering force. While others may not immediately understand or align with you, your unwavering self-acceptance will eventually draw them to you. By remaining genuine and unapologetically yourself, you’ll attract those who appreciate your unique qualities and values.
How do you define success?
I don’t believe in labeling experiences as ‘success’ or ‘failure.’ Instead, I focus on the journey itself, which transforms and molds me into a stronger, wiser individual. The concepts of success and failure are highly subjective and can vary greatly from person to person. What one person considers a triumph, another might see as a setback. By embracing the journey and letting go of rigid definitions, I find growth and self-improvement in every experience.
What is your biggest dream, and how are you working towards achieving it?
My ultimate aspiration is to make a profound impact in the community through my initiatives. In the first quarter of next year, I plan to launch a groundbreaking project that merges fashion with nonprofit endeavors, harnessing the glamour and influence of fashion to drive positive change. I firmly believe that we can leverage the platform to support those in need, uplift one another, and create a lasting difference. By combining fashion and philanthropy, I aim to create a ripple effect that inspires others to join me in making a meaningful impact.
How has your faith or spirituality played a role in your career/business?
I’m a firm believer that everything in life happens for a reason. After a decade in IT, I was unexpectedly drawn to the fashion world, and I’m now surrounded by an incredible network of positive and loving individuals from Uganda. It’s as if I was meant to be here, and I feel a deep sense of purpose. I believe that this journey is part of a larger plan, and I’m humbled to be a part of it. I hope to do justice to this calling and fulfill the potential that has been placed within me.
Who is your biggest inspiration, and why?
I’m deeply grateful to my parents, who instilled in me the importance of moral values. Growing up in a middle-class family, I faced challenges such as struggling to pay tuition fees and living in a small studio apartment with four family members. However, my parents’ determination to prioritize education and their remarkable journey from humble beginnings to success has been a constant source of inspiration for me. Another iconic figure who has greatly influenced me is Princess Diana. I admire her compassion, humility, and willingness to connect with others, despite the royal protocols she had to follow. She remained true to herself and was unafraid to show her authentic self. I strive to emulate her qualities by speaking up when necessary, being honest in my actions, and staying truthful to myself and others.
How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance?
Despite the challenges of constant travel recently, I’ve been diligently adhering to my diet plan to maintain my well-being. Once fashion weeks conclude, I’m looking forward to resuming my intense workouts and prioritizing self-care. I firmly believe that mental health is crucial, and it’s essential to surround yourself with a supportive inner circle who genuinely care about your welfare and uplift you. Nurturing those relationships is vital for overall wellness.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?
Always stay true to yourself, even in the face of those who may not have your best interests at heart. Authenticity is a magnetizing quality that draws people in, and attempting to fake it can be transparent.
My secret to success lies in my unwavering willingness to be my genuine self, regardless of the outcome. I embrace my true nature and never compromise my values to impress others. By doing so, I’ve found that people are more likely to respect and appreciate me for who I truly am.
What is something that people often misunderstand about your work/business?
Despite my confident and outgoing personality, some of them assumed I would be egoistic and arrogant. However, after getting to know me, numerous models and fellow queens have expressed their appreciation for my genuine nature. This experience has taught me the importance of not judging a book by its cover. People often surprise us by being more than what we initially perceive, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to show others that there’s more to me than meets the eye.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your work/business?
I am humbled and honored to have received the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. Additionally, I am thrilled to share that I have been nominated for two esteemed recognitions this year: Peace Ambassador and Honorary Doctorate in Peace, both to be awarded at the Canada Global Summit. These nominations are a testament to my dedication to promoting peace and making a positive impact, and I am grateful for the recognition.
What is something that you’re passionate about outside of your work/business?
I’m passionate about making a positive impact on young lives. As an ambassador for CY Hope, I regularly volunteer my time to engage with children and bring joy to their lives. This year, I have launched the Summer Bonanza program, which aims to provide essential school supplies to underprivileged kids. Through this initiative, I hope to bridge the gap and create a more equitable learning environment for all.
What is the most valuable skill you have learned in your career/business?
I’m guided by the principles of the Bhagavad Gita, which teaches us to perform our duties without attachment to outcomes or expectations of appreciation. I embrace this philosophy, focusing on the process and the present moment, rather than being driven by a desire for recognition or rewards. My motivation comes from within, and I will continue to work selflessly, inspired by the joy of making a positive impact.
What is something you wish you knew when you were just starting out in your career/business?
Not everything that glitters is gold, and it’s essential to observe people and evaluate your relationship with them. Take note of how they impact your life and whether their presence aligns with your positive energy. Don’t get trapped by those who may drain your energy or compromise your well-being. Prioritize self-care and distance yourself if you sense that someone has the potential to disrupt your positive aura.
How do you deal with failure or setbacks?
I welcome the journey of self-discovery and growth, reflecting on the lessons learned and integrating the insights that serve me. I release the need to label myself as successful or unsuccessful, instead, I focus on progress and evolution. When others share their perceptions of my success or influence, I listen with an open heart, as their words will resonate deeply, knowing that I’ve transcended the binary notion of success and failure. For me, it’s about embracing the journey, not the destination.
What is your philosophy in life?
There’s only one life, and the mantra ‘Live and let live’ is incredibly powerful. It reminds us to embrace the beauty of coexistence and the impact of uplifting others. The ultimate rhythm of this world is measured by how much we lift others up and live our own lives to the fullest, creating a positive impact in the community. When we help 10 people, 1,000 will emerge in our lives at the right moment to return the favor, creating a ripple effect of kindness and generosity.
What is that one life lesson that you learned a little too late?
Only a handful of people genuinely offer help without ulterior motives. Be cautious of those who lavish praise, as they may be seeking something in return. Their true intentions may reveal themselves over time. It’s essential to recognize that exploiting vulnerability for personal gain is immoral and unacceptable.
Remain aware and don’t let others take advantage of your kindness.
What is one thing that you have accomplished that you’re most proud of?
I am also privileged to serve as Assistant General Secretary of UNIPGC, a role that deepens my dedication to driving positive impact and meaningful change. This position allows me to further my passion for creating a lasting difference in the
