Saweetie’s Icy Baby Foundation Announces Financial Literacy Initiative

Saweetie is preparing to make some big community moves in 2023 with her nonprofit organization, The Icy Baby Foundation, and its new financial literacy initiative. 

The program will cater to students between the ages of 7-17. Eligible participants will receive a funded debit card, educational resources, and information about saving, budgeting, and financial planning. 

Founded by Saweetie and her Grandmother Roxanne Glass, The Icy Baby Foundation sets out to equip young people with the values and vision to pursue their dreams. The overall goal is to inspire black, brown, and other underserved students and family members to break through barriers, take control of their futures, and seize opportunities for good through financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and technology training.

Now that I have access to resources to give back to the community, I noticed that I was donating money to a lot of organizations, but I didn’t know where the money was going. My grandmother is someone who I trust, and I know she will put the money to good use.

The Grammy-nominated rapper seeks to build the next generation of black and brown youth as diverse entrepreneurs and college-educated leaders in their communities through inclusive capitalism and positive mindset training through the Icy Baby Foundation. 

Every school district should require financial literacy as a requirement before graduation. We can’t wait around for the school districts to do their part or for anyone else to do their part. We have to do it ourselves. -Roxanne Glass
