Hailing from Long Beach, California, Naseer is a self-taught music producer who began making beats at a young age. Raised in a city deeply rooted in the G-Funk era, Naseer draws from his love of old-school music and the iconic West Coast sound, merging these influences to create fresh, original beats that resonate with fans of hip-hop.
A Prodigy in the Making
Naseer’s journey into the music industry began early, but his foundation was built in an entirely different world. Before discovering his love for producing, Naseer spent his younger years as a background actor on some of television’s most popular shows. However, music was always his true passion, and it wasn’t long before he turned his focus to making beats. With no formal training, Naseer honed his skills independently, teaching himself how to create music and develop his signature sound. His work is heavily influenced by the G-Funk genre, which paved the way for his creative direction. The soulful, laid-back melodies fused with funky, bass-heavy beats reflect the culture of his hometown.
Entrepreneurship at a Young Age
Naseer’s entrepreneurial spirit shines through in his clothing line, Reesan, which he founded at the age of 12. The name “Reesan” is his own name spelled in reverse, symbolizing his desire to inspire the youth to look beyond the surface and embrace creativity in all aspects of life. Through Reesan, Naseer not only shares his personal style but also aims to motivate others to pursue their dreams, just as he did.
Breaking Into the Music Scene
In 2022, Naseer’s career took a significant leap when he was introduced to Teddy Theus, a well-known name in the West Coast music scene, along with the legendary Suga Free. Soon after, Naseer began working as one of Suga Free’s producers, receiving his first official producer credit for the track Publicity Stunt, featured on the album Street Communion by Sporty and Suga Free. This marked the beginning of Naseer’s rise in the industry, earning respect from both veteran artists and up-and-coming talents alike.
Collaborating with West Coast Legends
In addition to his work with Suga Free, Naseer recently produced a track for Sylk E Fyne, another iconic West Coast artist. The track, which will be released in January 2025, showcases Naseer’s growth as a producer, blending his signature style with Sylk E Fyne’s raw, unique sound. His ability to collaborate with such established artists at such a young age speaks to his talent and his potential to shape the future of West Coast hip-hop.
Naseer also credits DJ Quik as a major inspiration, who’s helped shape his sound and style as a producer.
Inspiration and Future Plans
Naseer credits much of his inspiration to iconic figures in West Coast hip-hop, including Snoop Dogg, DJ Battlecat, and DJ Quik. All three artists have had a significant influence on his sound, and Naseer continues to draw from their legacy to shape his own musical identity. With a bright future ahead, Naseer is eager to continue developing his craft, producing music that speaks to the heart of the West Coast while also pushing boundaries and experimenting with new sounds.
Currently in the 11th grade at Long Beach Poly High School, Naseer is continuing his education while also focusing on his music career. His dedication to both academics and his craft demonstrates his passion and commitment to success.
A Rising Star
As he continues to rise in the music industry, Naseer is setting himself up for long-term success. His passion, work ethic, and determination will ensure that he remains a standout figure in the world of hip-hop. Whether through his music, his clothing line, or his entrepreneurial ventures, Naseer Womack is on a mission to inspire the next generation and leave his legacy in the industry.
