Who is Amaris Miller of Black Moms Love Literacy?

Amaris Miller was born a lover of literacy. At a young age she took to reading and books. While she naturally excelled in school, Amaris did not necessarily take her academic success seriously. At the age of fifteen, as Amaris’ grades began to drop, she and her family found themselves homeless. Couch surfing on friend’s and family’s couches and eventually landing in a shelter was a traumatic event that Amaris vowed to never experience as an adult.

Homelessness would ultimately act as the impetus that pushed Amaris to apply to college. After receiving her Bachelors in Early Childhood Education, having four children, matriculating to completing her Masters in Educational Leadership, and becoming a model educator within her school district, Amaris thoroughly understood the power of education.
One night as Amaris sat binge watching Amend: The Fight for America, an original series on Netflix, it dawned on her that the power that lied in education could be boiled down to literacy.
Literacy, a subject in which Amaris was well versed, could transform the next generation!
Fast forward one week later Amaris decided to integrate literacy and parent coaching into her business model. Now her company, The Merge Consulting LLC, could target parents by helping them to cultivate strong readers. While her company is still young, Amaris aims to reach 10,000 early and struggling readers this year with her YouTube channel I_Am_ESOL and by hosting virtual parent coaching sessions.
She looks forward to the coming success and would love to work with you and your child!
