Megan Thee Stallion, Lauryn Hill, and Jermaine Dupri To Headline The 2023 Essence Festival
Lauryn Hill, Megan Thee Stallion, and Jermaine Dupri will be among the featured performers for the return of the Essence Festival of Culture, which will be bigger than ever. This year’s event, which is being held in New Orleans for the 29th time, will include the largest musical artists as Hip-Hop continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Essence Fest is back and bigger than ever before. The festival, which runs from June 29 to July 3, honors hip-hops 50th anniversary with live performances each night as well as online exhibits highlighting how hip-hop has influenced every facet of culture, including fashion, food, men’s experiences, beauty, and more! Several of the most illustrious emcees that have graced a mic in the previous 50 years will perform live for the audience. Attendees will embark on a celebration of hip-rich hop’s history that demonstrates how hip-hop has served as the foundation for every aspect of culture through a variety of experiences such as partner activations, thought-provoking dialogues, dynamic performances, and provocative art installations.

The event, sponsored by Coca-Cola, will provide attendees from near and far with both live and virtual experiences. A special 25th-anniversary performance of Grammy-winning artist Lauryn Hill’s album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, a celebration of So So Def’s 30th anniversary and an unforgettable group of Hip-Hop pioneers led by Doug E. Fresh are just a few of the highlights festival-goers can look forward to this year.
The hosts for this year are Deon Cole, Affion Crockett, Spice Adams, and Janelle James. Some of the biggest DJs to hit the turn tables will be keeping the vibes going such as DJ Clark Kent, Kid Capro, and DJ Spinderella. You can also expect performances from Wiz Kid, Monica, Coco Jones, Kizz Daniel, and more! Currently, ticket prices range from $214 to $3,444 along with some affordable lodging options as well.
