The much-talked-about fight between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul finally went down Friday night at the Kaseya Center in Miami, and it delivered exactly what fans were waiting for.

Joshua, a former two-time unified heavyweight champion, defeated Paul by knockout in the sixth round of their eight-round heavyweight bout, streamed live on Netflix. While many critics questioned the matchup due to the massive gap in experience, size, and pedigree, Paul proved tougher than expected.

Jake Paul entered the fight with a 12–1 record and had been riding momentum after wins over older former champions, including Mike Tyson and Julio César Chávez Jr. Still, stepping into the ring with Joshua, an Olympic gold medalist with 25 knockouts, was a whole different level.

Despite being outweighed by nearly 27 pounds, Paul showed heart and durability, surviving into the sixth round and avoiding an early stoppage. Joshua remained calm and patient, gradually breaking Paul down before landing the decisive shots that ended the fight.

For Joshua, the win marked a strong return after his 2024 loss to Daniel Dubois and months of recovery following elbow surgery. For Paul, the loss doesn’t erase his progress, it proved he’s willing to take real risks and face elite competition.

Love it or hate it, the fight was a moment, blending boxing tradition, modern streaming, and pure spectacle, and once again, the world was watching.
