A Florida Mom Who Spent Life Savings On Daughter’s Cancer Treatment Wins $2 Million
Some have even called it “instant karma,” saying that her good deeds have been rewarded.
A Florida mom who spent her life savings on her daughter’s breast cancer treatment received an incredible stroke of luck the day after her daughter’s treatment ended. Geraldine Gimblet won $2 million from a scratch-off lottery ticket, which she says will help her rebuild her savings.
Gimblet, a resident of Tallahassee, spent more than $100,000 of her savings on her daughter’s medical expenses after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She says she had been feeling discouraged and overwhelmed by the financial burden when she decided to purchase the lottery ticket.
To her surprise, the ticket turned out to be a $2 million winner. “It’s just pure joy, pure joy,” Gimblet said in an interview. “It’s a blessing. It’s God. It’s my daughter. It’s everybody who’s prayed for us and supported us.”
Gimblet says she plans to use the money to pay off her daughter’s medical bills and to rebuild her savings. She also hopes to donate some of the money to breast cancer research and to other cancer charities.
The story has been widely shared on social media, with many people celebrating Gimblet’s stroke of luck and praising her for her dedication to her daughter’s health. Some have even called it “instant karma,” saying that her good deeds have been rewarded.
