I was discovered by Michael Jackson, signed to Madonna’s record label, and toured with Britney Spears. Recently, I\u2019ve been chosen to be inducted into the American Entertainment Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What inspired you to pursue your career or business?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Watching Madonna as a kid changed my life. Her freedom on stage inspired me to leave my path in Olympic training and pursue music, dance, and acting. By 11, I had my first movie and was singing on major soundtracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What is the biggest challenge you\u2019ve faced in your career and how did you overcome it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Hiding my sexuality early on was a major hurdle. Later, my political views brought backlash. But I chose to focus on creating art that unites, not divides. Overcoming prejudice made me stronger and clearer about my purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Life itself motivates me. I love what I do so much that I can’t stop. My biggest lesson? Knowing that I am enough. That truth changed how I create and connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How do you define success?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n ” Success is releasing your work without fear. It’s about expression and impact, but also financial freedom to create what you love. If you’re brave enough to share your truth, you’re already successful. “<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n What is your biggest dream, and how are you working towards achieving it?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n My dream is to tour the world, performing with friends, celebrating life and creativity. I’m living that dream already and building on it every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How has your faith or spirituality played a role in your career?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Faith returned to my life through two angels\u2014my cats Max and Willow. They reminded me that God loves me. I told Him I\u2019m available for any divine purpose, and that has brought me peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Who is your biggest inspiration, and why?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Madonna\u2014because she\u2019s bold, unafraid, and constantly evolving. I admire people who challenge norms and make space for vulnerability and strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n By working out, spending time with friends, enjoying food, music, and yes, great sex. Pleasure and connection are essential to balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What advice would you give to someone just starting out?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Don’t compare yourself to others. Your uniqueness is your power. Trust your instincts and don\u2019t let anyone derail your vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What is something people misunderstand about your work?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n People try to box me in. But I’m complex, fluid, and not easily labeled. I challenge norms and that can ruffle feathers, but it’s always rooted in authenticity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What is the most rewarding part of your work?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n When fans tell me my music helped them release their own art. That connection, especially live on stage, is euphoric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What are you passionate about outside of your work?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Philosophy. I read thinkers like Carl Jung and Marcus Aurelius. I believe life has no inherent meaning\u2014we create it. That frees me to live intentionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What is the most valuable skill you’ve learned?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Music production. Learning ProTools, Ableton, guitar, piano\u2014it\u2019s empowered me to create without limits. My album Veronica<\/em> was even considered for two Grammy nominations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What is something you wish you knew earlier in your career?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n That deep relationships matter more than surface networking. The spotlight is sweeter when shared with collaborators you trust and care for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How do you deal with failure or setbacks?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Like gym workouts\u2014they build strength. Failure redirects and refocuses you. I process, reflect, and keep moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What life lesson did you learn a little too late?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n “Being on time. I missed big opportunities because of lateness. It matters.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n What accomplishment are you most proud of?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Becoming a Billboard artist, being discovered by Michael Jackson, getting signed by Madonna, and never giving up. Perseverance is my proudest trait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How do you see your career evolving?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I see myself in film and TV\u2014composing, acting, producing\u2014and collaborating with other amazing artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How do you give back or create impact?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Co-hosting Straight Talk with Dr. Marissa Pei<\/em> on NBC lets me spread positivity. Practicing gratitude has changed my life, and I share that with my community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Do you have a favorite quote?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Albert Camus: \u201cThe only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n What\u2019s the best advice you\u2019ve received?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Never compare yourself to others. It robs you of joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How do you stay innovative?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n By embracing new tech like AI, reading about mindfulness, and always pushing my limits creatively.
