Sol Romero is a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry. The actress and international recording artist from Mexico City has made her mark in both film and music, appearing in major productions such as \u201cCasino Royale,\u201d \u201cThe Legend of Zorro,\u201d \u201cEdge of Darkness,\u201d and most recently, \u201cMemory.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Sol’s talent doesn’t stop at acting. In 2011, she made her debut in the music scene with the release of her first single and video \u201cBiPolar Love\u201d from her premiere album \u201cDark Fantasy.\u201d Her music gained widespread success, and she became an instant sensation in Switzerland when she released her hit single \u201cTurn It Up\u201d in 2015. The song shot straight into the top ten on the Swiss music charts and was followed immediately with the release of \u201cMoney Makes the World Go Round\u201d featuring renowned Moroccan-American rapper French Montana, who also appeared in the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sol’s passion for entertainment started when she was just 13, where she began singing. But it wasn’t until her family moved to the Mexican town of San Miguel de Allende that she had her first brush with the entertainment industry. On the set of the Robert Rodriguez film \u201cOnce Upon a Time in Mexico,\u201d Sol fortuitously found her way onto the set and wound up working on the film as a camera double for Eva Mendez, one of the film\u2019s stars. This experience led Sol to pursue her career and study acting at the world-famous RADA Academy in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite her international success, Sol remains grounded and continues to strive for excellence in her craft. She currently resides between Los Angeles and Switzerland with her husband, director Martin Campbell, known for his work on the \u201cZorro\u201d and \u201cJames Bond\u201d films.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Favorite thing about yourself?<\/strong>
I love that I\u2019m different. I\u2019m kind of quirky and weird but at the same time sweet. And I am very trustworthy. I trust people pretty easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


How long have you been doing what you do?<\/strong>
I started singing when I was 12 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


If you could describe yourself in 3 words what would they be?<\/strong>
Weird. Funny. Spontaneous. Everyone who knows me would use those words to describe me
and I\u2019d agree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Describe your daily routine.<\/strong>
That is difficult because my husband Martin Campbel (director of \u201cJames Bond\u201d) and I are
constantly on the move. We\u2019re never really in one place. One day I could be in Sofia and then
the next day in Greece or Switzerland. We haven\u2019t been to London lately, but London is usually
also on the list. Recently we\u2019ve been trying to organize a trip back to Los Angeles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Who is your role model?<\/strong>
Somebody who loves to work hard, no matter the profession. That is a role model for me. Why?
Because my dad always says it doesn\u2019t matter what type of job you do as long as you are
passionate about working and being diligent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?<\/strong>
I don\u2019t know. Still happy. That\u2019s a good question. I just wouldn\u2019t want to see myself in a place
that I don\u2019t like or am not happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


What are your hopes and dreams for yourself in the coming 10 years?<\/strong>
To keep making music, make it big and make people love what I do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


If you could give career advice to your younger self, what would you say?<\/strong>
Don\u2019t trust people. Sometimes it\u2019s better to stick to things that might have a better outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


What has been your career highlight until now?<\/strong>
I have a few. Working with French Montana, filming the movie \u201cMemory\u201d with Liam Neeson,
working with tons of amazing producers like Humberto Gatica and Pablo Montero and having
my song chart in the top 10 in Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Best advise that changed your life?<\/strong>
I don\u2019t know yet. I think I\u2019m still waiting for that one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


What professional skills make you stand out in your field of work?<\/strong>
My voice and the way I express myself singing. I think my airy voice is not something a lot of
people can do, and I enjoy it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


What is the one life lesson that you learned a little too late?<\/strong>
Sometimes when you put everything in one basket, not everything works. I\u2019m pretty stubborn,
so I learned that the hard way a bit too late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Biggest lifetime accomplishment.<\/strong>
I still have tons of accomplishments to make so that is to be determined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


One event that had a big impact on you.<\/strong>
There have been many. Everytime something happens, in a good or in a bad way, it impacts me. It could be an opportunity that makes me jump out of my skin or it could be family, seeing
people happy, being moved by what you do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


What is the funniest thing that happened to you in 2022?<\/strong>
I try to always see life through a positive lens. If somebody trips in front of me or something
happens that I\u2019m not used to while I\u2019m in Switzerland or Bulgaria, I just laugh about it and see
that it made my day a little bit better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Number one goal for 2023?<\/strong>
I think my goal would be to make more money, like everybody else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Biggest regret in life?<\/strong>

I wish I had stayed in Mexico for the film \u201cNacho Libre.\u201d They offered me a part, but I left for
\u201cCasino Royale.\u201d In \u201cCasino Royale\u201d I only had a voice over role but in \u201cNacho Libre,\u201d they
offered me a big part. That remains my biggest regret.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n


Do you have a favorite quote?<\/strong>
I have tons of them: \u201cCarpe Deim.\u201d \u201cNever stop dreaming.\u201d \u201cBe happy, don\u2019t worry.\u201d It\u2019s so
dumb, but Barney\u2019s \u201cI love you, you love me.\u201d I always sing that to my daughter and she hates it, but I love it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Describe your perfect vacation<\/strong>.
Exploring untouched nature in a place that I\u2019ve never been.
What do you think is your worst quality?
Being stubborn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


What type of music do you love the most?<\/strong>
I love a little bit of everything. My favorite is EDM, with a little bit of pop. I also love indie music, classical music, and depressing music because it makes me happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Do you have any favorite pairs of shoes?<\/strong>
I go through phases. But anything that is crazy or artistic, like some fun high heels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Who is your ideal fictional character?<\/strong>
Somebody who is a typical charming prince. But I don\u2019t want him to be blonde, or have blue
eyes or green eyes. I just want him to be someone who has something special and magical
about him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

San Miguel or Switzerland. Why San Miguel? Because it\u2019s warm, and I\u2019ve lived there. It\u2019s super
artistic and super chill. Or Switzerland because our whole family is there and everything works

Love. Also a bit of money, but mostly love. You will never be happy if you don\u2019t have love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Best gift you received?<\/strong>
Every day I wake up and have sun and am alive is a gift. But the best physical gift? Anything my daughter gives me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Tell us a secret. Something you\u2019ve never told to someone.<\/strong>

When I was younger I used to sneak into the laboratory at school and mix all sorts of chemicals together and then the whole thing exploded and I had to run away and they never figured out that it was me.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n


Can you say happy new year in any other language?<\/strong>
I speak a few different languages. In Spanish: Feliz En neu weavo. In German: Herzlich
Gl\u00fcckw\u00fcnsche in neues Jahr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


What was like working with legendary producer Humberto Gatica on your new single?<\/strong>
He is amazing! I love how precise he is. He would never let me get off the hook easily. He wouldalways make sure that we had it exactly perfect. Sometimes he would get super mad at me if Ididn\u2019t hit it the way he wanted, and then he would say, \u201cI\u2019m just saying this because I want you all to know that we need to make it perfect.\u201d And I would be like \u201cYes, yes, of course don\u2019t worry about it.\u201d So I loved it. I love working with people like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The ballad was originally written by Juan Carlos Calder\u00f3n. What drew you into it?<\/strong>
Well, it was a very depressing song and anything that is a bit depressing and sad, I love. It talks
about an unconditional love that is almost like a sick love that you just can\u2019t stop. I found it such a touching subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
